There is no more denying or running from the fact that Christmas and Hanukkah are only two days away! Whatever holiday you celebrate, or don’t celebrate, there is never a shortage of gift giving this time of year. If you’re like me, then you have barely even started yet. Don’t stress it. Get your loved ones everything on this list and they’ll be sure to thank you over and over again.
When it comes to gift giving, I like to give people something unique and memorable. Just because my brother wants a video game, doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what I’m getting him. Video games come and go, and teenagers like him always want the newest so I know that the game would be used for a month, and then disregarded. Gifts should be thoughtful and have value. The worst gift you can give is one that is put at the bottom of the closet for the rest of time or worse, re-gifted the next year.
Lastly, don’t be too specific when giving a gift. Unless someone sends you a direct link to a pair of shoes with their size.. I’d stay away from it. Shoes and clothing items are personal and sizes vary so much, the odds of getting it right are slim. Don’t burden your recipient with returns and exchanges. Give them something they can use right away.
I’ve broken this list up into women, men, home and kids. When in doubt, always buy something for the receipts home. Décor items are always well received and useful. Some of my most favorite gifts have been home items. As an added bonus, you’ll be thought of every time they see your gift around their home. I mean, how cute is that mini waffle maker that comes in pink and blue? Who wouldn’t want that!
No matter what you give your loved ones this holiday season, the best gift of all is time spent together. Be sure to make every moment count!
